A specialist neurosurgeon trained at American Neurosurgical Associates, he focuses on personalized minimally invasive surgery. He has accumulated extensive experience in the management of neurosurgical conditions of the brain and spine, with an excellent outcomes — careful patient selection and the least invasive effective technique being the defining features of his practice.

He completed part of his specialty training under leading neurosurgeons of American Neurosurgical Associates — a US-trained surgical group based at Hygeia Hospital, Athens — gaining substantial surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic experience. Under the mentorship of professors affiliated with Brown and Harvard Universities, he progressed to performing operations as primary surgeon, with a focus on minimally invasive brain and spine surgery.

This was followed by several years of advanced training at Iaso Hospital alongside a pioneering, Cardiff-trained neurosurgeon who was among the first in Greece to introduce minimally invasive spine surgery.

He has adopted American clinical and surgical principles: precision, efficiency, commitment to excellence, and strict adherence to Evidence-Based Medicine — decisions grounded exclusively in the literature and high-quality scientific data, and, in the operating room, deliberate, targeted movements without unnecessary and potentially hazardous maneuvers.

He has performed over 1,000 procedures, with high success rates and a low complication rate — including hundreds of craniotomies and spine operations with excellent outcomes. Careful, evidence-based patient selection and the consistent use of minimally invasive techniques are the cornerstones of his surgical practice.

He has practiced at Metropolitan Hospital, Mediterraneo Hospital, and Iatriko Psychikou, managing complex surgical cases of the spine and brain, and has served as a consultant neurosurgeon at Mitera and Hygeia Hospitals, with a focus on spinal cases as well as craniosynostosis and hydrocephalus in pediatric patients.

As part of his residency training, he completed two years in Vascular Surgery at Elpis General Hospital, Athens, followed by two years in the Pediatric Neurosurgery Department of Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital — the largest pediatric hospital in Greece — where he took part in a wide range of pediatric neurosurgical procedures. He then spent a further two years at Asklepieio Voulas General Hospital, focusing on spinal procedures and the surgical management of traumatic brain injury.

He completed the final stage of his neurosurgical residency at G. Gennimatas General Hospital of Athens, home to one of the most advanced neurosurgical departments in Greece, and obtained his specialty certification in Neurosurgery. During these three years, his training centered on cranial procedures — including aneurysm surgery, endoscopic approaches, and skull base tumors — alongside a substantial volume of spinal operations.

He began his medical career with his mandatory rural service as a general practice physician at the Delvinaki Health Center in Epirus.
